Terms of service

Presenterra is provided by Red Rock Ventures Trust, registered in South Africa (“Presenterra”, “we”, “us”). These terms cover your use of presenterra.earth and the Presenterra app. By creating an account or using Presenterra, you agree to them.

If you are using Presenterra on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these terms for that organisation, and “you” below means that organisation.

1. What Presenterra is

Presenterra is a web app for building map-based presentations. A story is an ordered sequence of slides; each slide holds a camera position, which map layers are visible, and text, images and shapes placed over the map. Stories belong to an organisation, not to any one person — everyone with access to that organisation can see and edit the same stories.

2. Your account and your organisation

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to it.

An organisation’s owners and editors can invite and remove other members, and can see and change anything the organisation owns. Choose who you invite carefully — that is a decision for your organisation to make, not a setting we can make for you.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you put into a story — map data, text, images and any other files you upload. We do not claim any rights over it.

To run the product, you give us permission to store, copy, transmit and display your content — for example, so it can be rendered on a slide, autosaved, and shown to anyone you share a link with. That permission exists only so we can provide the service to you; we do not use your content for anything else.

You are responsible for having the right to upload whatever you upload, and for making sure it does not break the law or infringe anyone else’s rights.

4. Publishing and share links

Publishing a story creates a link on a long, hard-to-guess address. Anyone who has that link can open the story — the link is unlisted, not access-controlled. You can add a passphrase for an extra layer of protection, but the underlying link still works for anyone who holds it.

Treat a published link the same way you would treat a document you hand out: only share it with people, or through channels, you are comfortable giving that content to. Unpublishing a story stops the link working for anyone who opens it afterwards.

5. Plans, usage and billing

Presenterra is sold on plans with a monthly allowance of story plays and a number of included seats, described on the page where you choose or manage your plan. Some plans are free; paid plans are billed in advance for the period you choose (monthly or annual).

Fees are non-refundable once charged — see our refund policy for the full detail. You can cancel a paid plan at any time; your organisation keeps access until the end of the period you already paid for.

6. AI-generated content

Presenterra can generate a written description of a map view using a third-party AI model, reached through OpenRouter. That description is generated automatically, may be inaccurate or incomplete, and is a starting point, not a finished fact. You are responsible for checking anything AI-generated before you publish it or rely on it.

7. Bringing your own Mapbox account

Some organisations connect their own Mapbox account so their maps run on their own Mapbox billing. If you do this, your agreement and your bill with Mapbox are between you and Mapbox — we are not a party to it and are not responsible for it.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use Presenterra for anything illegal, or to publish content you do not have the right to publish;
• try to break, bypass or abuse the security of a share link, an account, or the product itself;
• interfere with the service, or with anyone else’s use of it, including by overloading it deliberately; or
• use the product to harass, defame or infringe the rights of anyone else.

We may suspend or remove access for a serious or repeated breach of this section.

9. Availability and support

We aim to keep Presenterra available and working well, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or fault-free, and the service is provided “as is”. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Presenterra, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, except where the law does not allow that limit.

10. Suspending or ending your account

You can close your account or your organisation’s account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or close an account for a serious breach of these terms, for non-payment, or where we are required to by law. Where reasonably possible, we will tell you why.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will update the effective date above and make reasonable efforts to let you know. Continuing to use Presenterra after a change takes effect means you accept the new terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of South Africa.
